Project 20M

The Internet’s Messiest Game Show

Challenge yourself or your friends to trivia contests, athletic competitions, puzzling brain-teasers, or anything in between. On Project 20M, we don’t play for cash or prizes. The ultimate reward is the right to stay clean while sending your opponent on a slimy trip to our Punishment Island.

How does it work?

This video explains what Project 20M is all about, but in short: we play real competitive game shows within a 3-4-hour studio session. The winner of the game stays clean while the loser gets covered in sweet and sticky foodstuffs. Shower, rinse, repeat—literally!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Definitely! Anyone who steps into our studio can expect to receive somewhere in the range of $400-$700 for the shoot day, depending on the number of games played, the amount of time allotted for the shoot, and the stakes of the game.

And the beauty is you’ll get paid the same rate whether you win or lose your game, so you can focus your attention to coming out on top and staying away from the slop.

  • Probably. If you enjoy friendly competition, can play to the camera, and aren’t afraid of getting a little messy, then Project 20M is for you.

Over the years we have hosted grad students, bartenders, office workers, artists, and even a few pro athletes. They all had one thing in common: an attitude that screamed “GAME ON!”

  • Absolutely not. Project 20M was inspired by TV game shows and, as such, is committed to cable television-level content standards. If one were to put a rating on it, Project 20M would be TV-14. At its most mature, losing contestants may strip down to underwear as an added stipulation, if it was agreed to before shoot day (learn more about “Project 20M After Dark” here).

  • We sell edited videos of Project 20M games on our Project 20M Vimeo On Demand Store. Behind the scenes photos or clips for trailers may be used on our social media or website. See this very site or the Project 20M Instagram for examples of public use.

  • While we believe Project 20M is best played between friends, we understand if you don’t have anyone else to play against. In such cases we would gladly set up games where you can test your skill against another great person we cast.

We’ve also designed a handful of solo games players can play “against the house.” Solo games are a little harder to win, but if you play your cards right you could essentially be paid to hang out and not get slimed. Good luck with that!

And of course, if you’d like to bring a non-participating friend to your shoot just as moral support, we welcome enthusiastic audience members.

  • We believe information is key to a fun and happy Project 20M experience. This starts with a brief phone screening with any potential contestant so they can get to know the producer and get answers to any questions they have.

Once we confirm a shoot with you, you’ll receive a call sheet containing information about the games planned, the slimy punishments on deck, and any other information you need to know before shoot day. Along the way we’ll be seeking your consent/sign off on any details before confirming them as part of your shoot.

This continues all the way through shoot day where contestants always have the freedom to end their shoot early or collaborate live on ways to maintain their comfort.

Project 20M is a low-stakes independent endeavor, so the least we can do is make sure that everyone who participates has the time of their life!
